As a young child every summer my grandparents would come to the United States and pick up my sisters and I to spend the summer with them in San Nicholas De Los Garzas, Mexico.  Traveling to Mexico was such a treat for us because not only did we get to spend time with our grandparents but we also got to experience a summer filled with traditional Mexican culture.  One of my favorite places to visit was the plaza directly across the street where many village craftsman would setup carretas (carts) filled with anything from blown glass, handmade pottery, rugs, leather goods, dresses and even toys.

Growing up its been a dream of mine to sell these hecho de mano (handmade) goods to people who enjoy the vibrant taste of South America.  At the age of 52 I have established Kay Chula in my hometown of San Antonio, Texas where you will find pieces of the Americas that will have you traveling south of the border.
